Grape Chart
Agricoper is committed to making the planet cleaner, starting with the earth and its fruits: our grapes.
We work every day to consume and produce in a sustainable way by promoting resource and energy efficiency and using working methods and tools with low environmental impact.
How do we do this?
Through targeted actions regarding:
- PACKAGING
We contribute to the reduction of plastic, non-recyclable materials and pollutants by studying and developing new packaging for our grapes that has an increasingly low environmental impact.
This is the case of our RPET trays (80%) with FSC certified paper labels and our new Lavinia bags, which are fully recyclable. They have now replaced the traditional conical bags made of transparent plastic.
- WATER CONSUMPTION SAVING
We monitor the soil moisture in our fields so that we can quantify the exact need for irrigation, and the water we use for irrigation comes from artesian wells.
- ENERGY SAVING AND RENEWABLE ENERGIES
We have built two photovoltaic systems on the roof of our packhouse which now generate 55% of the energy that we consume and, as a result, drastically reduce CO2 production.
- RESPECT FOR THE LANDSCAPE
Agricoper’s fields are enclosed by dry stone walls, which, as well as respecting the traditional Apulian landscape, are also able to capture the humid air from the scirocco and libeccio winds and turn it into water that nourishes the land naturally.
- USE OF FERTILISERS
There are lysimeter probes in the soil of our farms, which by means of nutritional monitoring and analysis of circulating solutions, together with foliar diagnosis, allow a targeted and sustainable application of fertilisers and in this way waste and excesses are avoided.
